Someday at Christmas

Someday at Christmas police won’t be boys

Playing with Black lives like kids play with toys

One warm December our hearts will see

A world where we are free

Someday at Christmas there’ll be no wars

When we have learned what Christmas is for

When we have found what life’s really worth

There’ll be peace on earth

Someday all our dreams will come to be

Someday in a world where we are free

It will take a movement built by you and me

Someday at Christmastime

Someday at Christmas we’ll see a land

With no killer cops with guns in their hands

One happy morning people will share

A world where people care

Someday at Christmas there’ll be no tears

When all no Black mama meets the worst of her fears

One shining moment, one prayer away

From our world today

Someday all our dreams will come to be

Someday in a world where we are free

It will take a movement built by you and me

Someday at Christmastime

Someday at Christmas oppression will fail

Hate will be gone and love will prevail

Someday a new world that we can start

With hope in every heart

Someday all our dreams will come to be

Someday in a world where we are free

It will take a movement built by you and me

Someday at Christmastime…Someday at Christmastime.

Dreaming of a Black Xmas

We’re dreaming of a Black XMas

Much different from what we now know

Where our one true mission

Is a radical vision

To see the Black economy grow

We’re dreaming of a Black XMas

With every injustice that we fight

May our boycott lead to human rights

And may all our Black XMases unite, the people!

“Hark the Fighting People Sing”

(sung to the tune of “Hark! The Herald Angels Sing”)

v. 1

Hark! The fighting people sing —

“Listen to the news we bring!”

Peace on earth and mercy mild

Black and Human reconciled

Joyful, all Black people rise

Then no more we’ll hear Trump’s lies

Here, together we proclaim:

We will always say their name

Hark! The fighting people sing —

“Listen to the news we bring”

v. 2

Trump’s despised at home and abroad

He’s a racist, liar, and fraud

He thinks women should be seen, not heard

We can’t trust a single word

He cheats the workers of Trump Tower

We won’t recognize his power

Though January twenty is near

We will never live in fear

Hark! The fighting people sing –

“Listen to the news we bring”

[Repeat v. 1]

“Deck the Streets”

(sung to the tune of “Deck the Halls”)

v. 1

Deck the streets Black, young and old

Fa-la-la-la-la, la-la-la-la

We won’t do as we’re told

Fa-la-la-la-la, la-la-la-la

Black folks joyous, altogether

Fa-la-la-la-la-la, la-la-la

Heedless of the wind and weather

Fa-la-la-la-la, la-la-la-la

v. 2

Trump tries to silence and defeat us

Fa-la-la-la-la, la-la-la-la

But we sing louder, he can’t beat us

Fa-la-la-la-la, la-la-la-la

Police have no force we concede to

Fa-la-la-la-la-la, la-la-la

Black pride and love will see us through

Fa-la-la-la-la, la-la-la-la

v. 3

Fast away Trump’s first term passes

Fa-la-la-la-la, la-la-la-la

Peace! to all his lads and lasses

Fa-la-la-la-la, la-la-la-la

We’re on the mic, we do the speaking

Fa-la-la-la-la-la, la-la-la

We’re the leaders we’ve been seeking

Fa-la-la-la-la, la-la-la-la

“Trump’s Nuts Roasting on an Open Fire” by Fiona Apple

(sung to the tune of “Christmas Song” Chestnuts Roasting on an Open Fire)

Trump’s nuts roasting on an open fire

As he keeps nipping at his foes,

You’ll cry ‘creepy uncle’ every time he arrives

For he keeps clawing at your clothes

Everybody knows that money and entitlement can help to make the season white

Mothers of color with their kids out of sight will find it hard to sleep at night

They know that Trump is on his way

He’s got black boys in hoodies locked up on his sleigh

And every working man is gonna cry

When they learn that letch don’t care how you live or if you die

So I’m offering this simple phrase

To kids from 1 to 92

Although it’s been said, many times many ways

Merry Christmas to you

Merry Christmas

Merry Christmas

Donald Trump, fuck you
